Today's word of the day is hornswoggle. It's a verb meaning to cheat or swindle.
Dictionary.com says that its origin is obscure and adds that an 1829 periodical from The Virginia Literary Museum claimed the word came from Kentucky and defined it as “to embarrass irretrievably.”.
