Knew knickers?

This sentence from the Washington Post bothered me when I first read it:

To be fair, McEnroe’s short white shorts aren’t far off from the look of his knew knickers.

Knew knickers? I assumed the writer meant new knickers. Unless it's a play on the "k" in knickers.

The story is about John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg starting their own underwear line.

Rearing or raring?

I JUST FOUND an online headline that said a quarterback was raring to go this fall. I wonder if it's raring to go or rearing to go. In a way, rearing sounds right.

According to the Urban Dictionary, they seem interchangeable.
