Misuse of whom

Found online: If Jerry can keep his weight under control, he should have no problem fending off former Chicago Bear Lance Louis for the right guard position, whom is returning from a torn ACL.

People misuse whom all the time, but this is one of the worst I've seen. "Who is returning" is correct.

I also don't like the fact that the writer split up Lance Louis and "who is returning from a torn ACL." Let's do it again.

If Jerry can keep his weight under control, he should have no problem winning the right guard position over former Chicago Bear Lance Louis, who is returning from a torn ACL.
