Actually, Bing implied, and she inferred. That's a common problem in speech.

Implying and inferring

NEEDS EDITING: In early 2005, another Red Sox player, Trot Nixon, lambasted Rodriguez, in part over a magazine interview in which Rodriguez boasted of his early-morning off-season workouts. Nixon felt Rodriguez was inferring that other players were not as dedicated as he was, even though some of those players, like himself, had kids to take to school.

Rodriguez would be implying that other players are not as dedicated. Others would be inferring.

ANOTHER ONE: Clausen would later be told by Coach John Fox that the Panthers had tried to get up to the top of the second round to pick him...

This would read better as Coach John Fox later told Clausen that...
