WILL HAS THE TASK

FOUND ONLINE:
Again, we will has the task of separating what is important from the noise.

Of course, the writer meant "we will HAVE the task." It's just a typo, I know, but this writer did a great job otherwise in finding errors. You need to backread EVERYTHING.

In my sixth newspaper job, my boss suggested I read a story forward, then read it again backward, paragraph by paragraph. It works. (I just did that backwards method and found two typos.)

FINNED OR FINED

FOUND ON YOUTUBE: FINNED, Owning an Illegal Dog!

Since there's a photo of someone forking over money, I suspect they meant FINED, not FINNED.

The odd thing is that the narrator actually said finned, then said fined in that sentence or the next one. Weird.

Finned sounds fishy to me.

FOUND ONLINE: Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has dismissed a challenge to Texas state legislative maps that critics say intentionally dilute minority voting power and result in an illegal racial gerrymander.

The obvious question: Is there a LEGAL racial gerrymander?
