HEADLINE FOUND ONLINE: Tornado with 105 mph winds hit Salisbury Monday, meteorologists confirm

I realize the headline writer saw winds and hit together, but he should have stripped out some words and realized that the story is Tornado HITS Salisbury... Why? Newspapers write in present tense.

I'd also hyphenate 105-mph.

Formed the corps

FOUND ONLINE: Reaves, wide receiver Carlos Alvarez and running back Tommy Durrance formed the corps of the so-called “Super Sophs” that finished 9-1-1 during the 1969 season.

The writer probably meant core, not corps; at least that's the only thing that makes sense here.

ALSO FOUND ONLINE: The problem is we haven’t seen much of Smith recently do to an injury.

The writer meant due, not do; he didn't proofread his story. I found other typos, but I had to mention this one.
