SMILE ON HIS FACE

FROM A BOOK: The small and persistent smile on his face seemed to accentuate the Satanism.

This is from a book of short stories (Casebook of the Black Widowers) by Isaac Asimov.

I've written about this sort of thing before. The smile was on his face?

Where else would it be? His ear? His elbow?

His small and persistent smile seemed to accentuate the Satanism.

FOUND ONLINE: No, the vice presidency would be a waste Cooper’s of talent.

This isn't the worst faux pas I've ever seen. The writer meant "waste of Cooper's talent."

FOUND ONLINE: I can say for certain that in my lifetime, I have not known a more compassionate President that Joe Biden.

I've done this several times myself over the last 45 years, so I can't complain too much.

Obviously, the writer meant THAN, not THAT.
