Told me this week

FOUND ONLINE: “There’s enough truth to it to compel some self-reflection,” Wolfson, who was the communications director for Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid in 2008, told me this week.

I've posted on this before; I hate splitting attribution. I know the writer wants to get "told me this week" in there, but it's an awkward construction.

BACK, WHO MISSED

This is awkward, since the writer should have Eifert and who together. I'm going to go in a different direction.
