I just found the word SCAPEGRACES in a novel and looked it up.
One website explained it as an incorrigible rascal. Another called a scapegrace a mean, evil or unprincipled person. It listed synonyms (villains, brutes, offenders, criminals, monsters, savages, devils, beasts) and antonyms (saints, angels, heroes).
From another novel, I found the word PONIARD, quoted from Shakespeare. So I looked it up.
A poniard or poignard (Fr.) is a long, lightweight thrusting knife with a continuously tapering, acutely pointed blade, and a cross-guard, historically worn by the upper class, noblemen, or members of the knighthood. Nice.
