A relative unknown plucked from obscurity

Found online: In the early 1960s, movie producers adapting Ian Fleming’s novels about a suave British spy named James Bond plucked a relative unknown, Sean Connery, from obscurity and offered him the role of a lifetime. 

I don't think you need to say that Sean Connery was a relative unknown who was plucked from obscurity. One or the other would work fine.

In the early 1960s, movie producers adapting Ian Fleming’s novels about a suave British spy named James Bond plucked Sean Connery from obscurity and offered him the role of a lifetime.


Or: In the early 1960s, movie producers adapting Ian Fleming’s novels about a suave British spy named James Bond offered relative unknown Sean Connery the role of a lifetime.
