Making assumptions

Wrong name: We all make incorrect assumptions.

Take Ramon Bieri, an actor I saw a lot on TV cop shows in the '60s and '70s and beyond. I assumed his name was pronounced Ruh-MOAN Bee-AIR-ee.

Wrong. I was watching The Streets of San Francisco, and the announcer (This is a Quinn Martin production) called him RAY-mon BEER-eye. The first name sounded like Raymond without the "d."

You never know.
