Neutron is "so positive"?

I was just watching the 1955 scifi movie This Island Earth, and the female protagonist tells the male protagonist that the cat is named Neutron because "he's so positive."

They're both scientists, and they ought to know that protons are positively charged and neutrons have no charge. The orange cat should have been named Proton or Positron.

There were several goofs in the movie, but this one caught my eye first and foremost.
