Scotland Yard's name

FOR MANY YEARS, I've wondered how England's famed Scotland Yard got its name. After all, it's in England, not Scotland.

I looked it up online, and there's no definitive answer. However, I did find some history about Scotland Yard and its name.

Apparently, the Case of Scotland Yard is still open.
