The Carolinas

EDITORS AT THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER don't like it when staff writers talk about the Carolinas. Editors say there's no such thing as the Carolinas; it's North Carolina and South Carolina.

A writer talked about North and South Carolina for tomorrow's paper, and, frankly, there's no place around here called North. But I understand.

It's the editors' preference.

SPORTS LIKE BASEBALL and soccer hold pool play; why don't they have pool play in swimming?
