FOUND ONLINE: Gase’s offense only scoring seven points in Miami’s 17-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars cost his team the game.

If the Dolphins lost by a 17-7 score, then the offense couldn't have scored more than seven points, by definition. Instead, I would have written this:

The offense's poor performance in Miami’s 17-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars cost the team the game.

You might as well get right to the point.
