Tried to veganized

FOUND ONLINE: I used to be addicted to cheese before I went vegan, so one of the first things I tried to veganized was cheese. 

I think the blogger was trying to write this two different ways. He/she could have said tried to veganize or just veganized, and wound up using both.

I used to be addicted to cheese before I went vegan, so one of the first things I tried to veganize was cheese. 

Or: I used to be addicted to cheese before I went vegan, so one of the first things I veganized was cheese. 

That's assuming, of course, that veganized is a word.
