WORD MAN: CELERITY

FOUND ONLINE: I make minor alterations to your genetic code and induce internal celerity to express short-term changes to your biology.

Nurse Chapel said this on the first episode of Strange New Worlds (Star Trek).

Celerity means swiftness of movement or action, and I'm not sure what that means when altering someone's genetic code. I assume it means that these are swift changes.

I guess the nurse (and the writers) were trying to sound smart. There would have been a faster, and easier, way to say it.
