Ring of honors

Instead of having a hall of fame, some college and pro football teams have a ring of honor around the stadium to remember past stars.

I just heard a TV guy talk about several teams having ring of honors. He meant rings of honor. It's kinda like mothers-in-law and attorneys general.

Illegal block in the back

Heard on TV: I was watching football on Saturday, and the announcer said someone was called for an illegal block in the back.

I'm just wondering: Is there a LEGAL block in the back?

Update: Because of this post, I hear that you CAN block in the back legally in certain situations. I didn't know that, obviously. Live and learn.

Found online: A headline says Homicide victims rarely talk to police.

How could they? They're dead.
