WORD MAN: DOGSBODY and OBDURATELY

I just found the word DOGSBODY in a novel. I knew it wasn't complimentary.

It means a person who has to do all the boring or unpleasant jobs that other people do not want to do.

I just read the word OBDURATELY in the same novel. According to thesaurus.com, some strong synonyms include adamantly, decisively, doggedly, persistently, resolutely, staunchly, steadfastly, strictly, stubbornly and tenaciously.

That sounds like HARD HEADED to me.

WORD MAN: PERCIPIENT and DOVECOTE

FOUND IN A NOVEL: Percipient -- having good insight or understanding; perceptive.

I think I would have gone with perceptive instead of percipient. More recognizable.

FROM THE SAME NOVEL: Dovecote -- a shelter with nest holes for domesticated pigeons.
