Illegal dog-fighting ring

FOUND ONLINE: After going to jail for running an illegal dog fighting ring and being suspended by the NFL, Vick returned to football with the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2009 season.

Is there such a thing as a LEGAL dog-fighting ring? Just asking.

Also, I'd hyphenate dog-fighting ring.

I just saw a post on Facebook about hyphens.

Hyphenated.
Non-hyphenated.
The irony.

What's the irony? Hyphenated is not hyphenated, and non-hyphenated IS hyphenated. The post is from something called Grammar Matters.

And to me it does.
