Amount of kids

FOUND ONLINE: I remember moving into my dorm room and just being in awe at the amount of kids shuffling in and out.

The writer used amount when number would have worked better. You drink a certain amount of beer, but a large number of kids shuffle in and out.

So: I remember moving into my dorm room and just being in awe at the number of kids shuffling in and out.

FROM THE SAME ARTICLE: Looking back, I can't image my college experience without my sorority.

I suspect the writer meant imagine, not image. Just a typo.
