Mar’s ice-capped poles

FOUND ONLINE: Detoxified soil isn’t the only thing astronauts will need to grow plants. They’ll also need to utilize the water from Mar’s ice-capped poles.

The planet is Mars, not Mar, so the possessive would be Mars' (which I hate) or Mars's. You can also say "the ice-capped poles on Mars." I like the latter better.
