Another edit on rein or reign

WRITERS OFTEN STRUGGLE with rein and reign. Take this sentence found online:

Last summer, the Miami Dolphins made a splash by reigning in NFL superstars Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby.

Yes, "reigning" should be "reining" here. And Marshall and Dansby didn't play like superstars this past season.
