It doesn't appear

FOUND ONLINE: Say this for the new Cleveland Browns brass: It doesn't appear to be backing away from bold possibilities.

To me, the Cleveland Browns brass are a plural, so "They don't appear" would be correct.

Later in the same article: This is a enticing opportunity here...

Obviously, this is an enticing opportunity.

ALSO FOUND ONLINE: Ty Montgomery (ankle) continues to nurse his ankle injury and is now off crutches, Jason Wilde of ESPN.com reports.

Apparently this web site automatically mentions a player's injury, ankle, back, groin, whatever. But if you're going to mention it later in the sentence, you don't need it twice.
