Dying interstate

FOUND IN A NOVEL: He had been persuaded by the lawyers not to go interstate...

This is one of my favorite novels, written by one of my favorite novelists. I've probably read this book five or six times already, if not more, and I just noticed a wrong word.

The character who had died had made a will so he wouldn't die intestate (without a will). The writer used the more familiar word (interstate), and the editors didn't catch it.

I probably noticed the mistake earlier; this time, I decided to mention it.
