1942, who outlived him

FOUND ONLINE: Reese was married to Dorothy "Dottie" Walton on March 29, 1942, who outlived him by nearly thirteen years. They had two children, and Dottie died on March 7, 2012; just 22 days away from what would have been the couple's Platinum wedding anniversary.

That's a long piece of copy, but it's necessary. There are two sentences that need fixing.

They have 1942 and who married together, and that's obviously wrong. We need to move the date. In the second sentence, they have a semicolon when a comma would work. Finally, I wouldn't uppercase platinum.

On March 29, 1942, Reese was married to Dorothy "Dottie" Walton, who outlived him by nearly thirteen years. They had two children, and Dottie died on March 7, 2012, just 22 days away from what would have been the couple's platinum wedding anniversary.

Those are two simple fixes for this bio of baseball hall-of-famer Pee Wee Reese.

Turned the reigns...

FOUND ONLINE: The Miami Dolphins turned the reigns over to new head coach Adam Gase...

Yes, that would be reins, like the reins of a horse (or the reins of a football franchise).

ALSO FOUND ONLINE: Before ever playing a down of professional football, Dion Jordan was already drawing comparisons to Dolphins' great, Jason Taylor.

You don't need an apostrophe on Dolphins or a comma after great, and you don't need already.

Before ever playing a down of professional football, Dion Jordan was drawing comparisons to Dolphins great Jason Taylor.

MORE FROM THE INTERNET: Newcomer Cleyon Laing enters the mix; however, his transition from the CFL to NFL won't be seamless and (he) is viewed as more a project at this moment in time.

Wordy; now replaces at this moment in time nicely. Or you can put a period after project. And I added the (he). I think it's needed.
