A great line

I'm a big fan of Mike Wallace, the former star of the television show "60 Minutes." Wallace died Saturday at age 93, and the Washington Post said the cause of death was not yet known. It might have been old age.

The WP story had at least one interesting line:

Mr. Wallace developed a compelling persona that seamlessly blended country club locker-room bonhomie with the prosecutorial zeal of Torquemada.

That pretty much described Wallace. He could be charming or brutal, almost at the same time. He was a journalistic version of Perry Mason, with a little Hamilton Burger thrown in there.
