WORD OF THE DAY: I found this sentence the other day on NYTimes.com. And now, three years since Mr. Robinson died at age 88, the state that once subjugated him has put its money and imprimatur on a museum devoted to his life and legacy.
Naturally, I had to look up imprimatur.
Sounds like he would have been a good newspaperman. I've worn out a few clubs.

It means a license to print or publish especially by Roman Catholic episcopal authority; approval of a publication under circumstances of official censorship; or a mark of approval or distinction.
