Whack? Berry Berry?

TODAY'S OXYMORON: Why do they say that something is out of whack? How does it get back in whack? And what's a whack? It's obviously nothing like getting whacked.

NEEDS EDITING? I found this in an online story on the University of Tennessee football team — The defense lost its three best players: SS Eric Berry, DT Dan Williams and SS Eric Berry. Since Eric Berry was two of the team's three best defenders, he must have been terrific.

PLAY ON WORDS: Here's a sign that a friend sent me — If pro is the opposite of con, what's the opposite of progress? Congress!

Sometimes it seems that way.
