No solitude and loneliness

THIS QUOTE FROM Ursula K. Le Guin got me thinking.

"As a writer you are free. You are about the freest person that ever was. Your freedom is what you have bought with your solitude, your loneliness."

It's funny, but I rarely feel alone or lonely when I write. When I write non-fiction, I think of the people I've talked to for the story. And when I write fiction, my characters keep me company.

Either way, I'm right at home.
