Grammar Day

GRAMMAR DAY: Today is National Grammar Day, a day that should mean something to all writers and editors. Here's a blog on the subject, and here's the web page for Grammar Girl and the Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar.

You can also read about it on About.com.

Grammar day! And I didn't buy anyone any presents or anything! Geez! I'm so behind... Kathy Teel
I felt the same way. My wife asked how I'd celebrate National Grammar Day; I tried to use good grammar.

QUOTABLE: I always wondered about the quote "When a dog bites a man that is not news, but when a man bites a dog that is news." It turns out that Charles Anderson Dana said that in the story 'What is News?' in The New York Sun in 1882.
