Found online: After some players (John Denney and Brian Hartline to name a few) got finished with their dinner they rejoined the search for Langford’s two-plus carrot earring.

First of all, Denney and Hartline are either two players or a couple of players. They're not a few. Second, it's carat, not carrot.
