Remains of the sentence

This sentence has "remain" or "remains" twice. And that's one too many.

Peyton Manning remains with the Colts after signing a reported five-year, $90 million contract to remain with the team he was drafted by in 1998.

Let's change it this way:

Peyton Manning signed a reported five-year, $90 million contract and will remain with the Colts, the team that drafted him in 1998.

You're still putting a lot of information in one sentence, but at least it's cleaner.

Cool words

I was looking up cool words online and found Fantacular.com.

Today's word from Fantacular is antidisestablishmentarianism, a political philosophy opposed to the separation of church and state."

You can also find cool words at The Vocabula Review. From that site, our cool word is grandiloquent — using high-flown, pompous, bombastic words and expression.

I also found cool words at English-test. Today's word from English-test is perspicacious, having keen judgment or understanding; acutely perceptive.









And don't forget Coolest Words. From that site we get syzygy, an alignment of three celestial objects, as the sun, the earth, and either the moon or a planet.
